home alone

the days when friday night meant going out hard are long gone and now i like my friday nights to be laundry/litter box changing/cleaning nights so i’m ready to relax and enjoy the weekend. this is especially true when you shut down the BHP on a school night with your coworkers the night before and are on the struggle bus big time all day friday. side note: spent some time today trying to find out when the BHP opened and i can’t find it anywhere online. maybe it’s just always been there?

christine, who joined for last night’s festivities, brought up a great point: why doesn’t spotify have a ‘hungover at work’ playlist? she should make one - i would listen to it. we spent 2.5 hrs today in a conference room looking at everyone’s pictures from various work events over the year like MV, VT and paris and amalfi. it was an excellent way to spend the day and a nice recap of the year. some real gems in there as well.

chris is out of town this weekend on a guys trip so aside from the gripping aforementioned friday night activities i have planned to order chinese food and watch ‘white christmas’ on netflix. samson loves ‘white christmas’ so he’ll be watching too.

chris and i have been living together for just about a year now and i love living with him but there’s also something so nice about having the place to yourself for a few days. so even though the apt feels a little empty without him i’m enjoying doing all the ‘secret single behavior’ / stuff that annoys my boyfriend type things like sleeping with the windows open (his toes get cold), burning my winter candle from bath and body works and sleeping in the middle of the bed for a few days.

our holiday party is on tuesday night (side note: ‘happy holidays is what terrorists say’. 30 rock - too real these days. i think i’m just going to start using ‘merry new year’ more liberally - covers all the bases). our company has not told us where in boston this event will be which is really annoying people in the office. the suspense is terrible.

thursday is our team yankee swap and then saturday chris and i fly to sarasota for the week. a tropical christmas is a new one for me but i 'm listening to 'christmas island' by jimmy buffett and 'christmas in blue chair bay' by kenny chesney to get in the right mindset.

'new england's winter playground' and pork fried rice await! have a lovely weekend.
